   Good TV – No Complaints
   I’ve had this tv (65”) for a week and watched lots of sports. The picture is great and the sound is good. I have no complaints.

   Best Budget 4K OLED Samsung 55″ S85D OLED 120HZ 4K Television
   This is one of the best mid-range 4K OLED TV’s money can buy & the best tv in my house quality wise! I also own a LG C2 OLED that I bought in 2023 which I can actually compare to this tv: The QD-OLED in this S85D panel is much better than the WOLED in my C2 from LG. I am happy that it features a glossy panel instead of the matte finish of the more expensive 95D Samsung model (I prefer a glossy panel on my OLED televisions as it adds so much more life & vibrance to the colors almost making the image pop out of the screen) The design of the panel is very impressive and there is almost no hump at all on the back of the display, a true marvel. (probably one of the best looking tv’s if you like to flush zero gap wall-mount) The uniformity is perfect across the gray, white full screen & gradients are near perfect with motion being comparable to some of the top tv’s. The perfect blacks are achieved by completely turning off the pixels in certain scenes and makes watching movies with black bars WAY less noticeable with night time movie viewing. In SDR & HDR mode Gaming can reach a full 120hz and peak brightness can hit 500-1200 nits. Others have tested this tv to come in around the 500-750 nit range during most real scenes & honestly the panel appears immensely bright to me and I don’t see brightness being something that would hold me back from buying this model especially since it is commonly cheaper than the s90 or s95d while being basically a slightly dulled down version of those. You lose out on 4K 144hz and matte finish on the panel of the S95D. 120Hz on this S85D is more than enough for most games I play when I hook up my Gaming PC or consoles everything has worked very well with zero screen tearing or glitches. The Menu navigation is also super speedy & makes my LG WebOS Menus for just changing picture settings seem slow and outdated. The remote is simple & solar powered never worry about battery for the remote again (mine has never died & it also features a backup USB-c dedicated charging port) the only thing on the remote I do not like is the channel and volume buttons (a very weird design choice). The TV is easily wall mountable and also features a two leg stand design that really compliments its overall appearance! The S85D Samsung 4K OLED TV is going to get 5/5 stars from me and I can see myself never getting rid of this TV!

   $2100 Samsung TV dead on arrival
   With no visible damage to the box or the unit, the TV was dead on arrival. After an hour of unboxing and mounting the TV, another hour troubleshooting with Samsung tech support, and another hour with Amazon to schedule a pickup for a large item, the unit was picked up last week. I still haven’t received a refund from Amazon. I just wanted a TV, not all this hassle.

   I am finding more that it does each day
   My old television had started randomly turning itself off for no reason. When it became so frequent that I wanted to scream, I decided it was time to get a new one. I am lost when it comes to electronics. Usually I just go to the store and pick one that I think will work and is in my budget range. I am totally and completely excited about this television. It has been flawless so far.The television came with specific instructions that even included how to unpackaged to prevent damage and where to place your hands.Setup was easy. Stand pieces can be placed in two different places. Comes with caps to cover the unused placement areas.After turning it on, I connected to my WiFi and I was set. The television walked me through basic setup instructions in a simple way. I am still learning and finding different things each day. I really love that all screen lists can be edited. If there is a system setting you use frequently and you don’t want to constantly scroll through all of the less used ones first, you can edit the list and make the more frequently use ones appear first. Completely customizable.The remote can be charged via a usb c charger and also has a small solar panel on the back. Never hunt for batteries again! The remote is really small so I do worry about it getting lost.The sound is amazing. During the setup process, the television said it was mapping the room. The sound quality is great regardless of where I am sitting in my living room. My college age daughter said she would hate to hear it at some of the higher levels. I think we are able to use a lower setting since the sound is being projected based on the room mapping.Picture quality is superb. I was already watching shows and very happy with the quality, when I read in the manual about the picture features. It has a 3D quality which gives a layered look to the picture. It is impressive. Once I was looking for it, it became very obvious that is what made everything so crisp.
